Nepal got to know about flash flood 16 minutes after it had entered the country: Report

The flash floods, which killed hundreds, crossed into Nepal at 8:40 am on Wednesday, but officials responsible for alerting citizens only got to know about it at 8:56 am. Hydrologist Sauharda Joshi said floods had already destroyed entire villages by then. Casualties could've been "significantly minimised" had Nepal received flood information while it was building up in Tibet, Joshi added.
