In a bid to slash government spending, US President Donald Trump directed government agencies to work with Elon Musk's Department of Government Efficiency to cut workforce. In his executive order, Trump asked agencies to hire no more than one employee for every four workers who leave. Law enforcement, national security, immigration and public safety agencies are exempt from the directive.
