Congo's Ebola cases cross 1,000, largest 1st-month total of any Ebola outbreak
The total number of confirmed Bundibugyo Ebola cases in Congo crossed 1,000, including 267 deaths, as per WHO data. This marks the largest number of confirmed cases within the first month of any Ebola outbreak in Africa, a senior WHO official said. It took 37 days to reach 250 deaths, compared to 78 days during previous outbreaks, he added.
