K’taka Congress MLA seeks merger of his constituency with Andhra, sparks row

Karnataka Congress MLA NY Gopalakrishna expressed anguish over continued neglect of his constituency Molakalmuru, saying, “It’d be better to merge this town with Andhra Pradesh or with Challakere taluk.” Following the controversy, he clarified that his remark was “misinterpreted” and said his intention was to demand improved irrigation facilities and a special development package for Molakalmuru.
