12 marble mines collapse in Rajasthan's Makrana, video shows
short by Garima Garg / on Saturday, 25 July, 2026
Heavy monsoon rains triggered a massive ground subsidence, causing about 12 marble mines in the Kalanada mining range in Rajasthan's Makrana to collapse. A video showed a section of Jakhli Road caving into the quarry, causing the rock partitions separating the mines to collapse within seconds. No injuries or deaths were reported as mining operations had already been suspended.
