Alexander the Great's long-lost city rediscovered in Iraq

Archaeologists have confirmed the location of a long-lost city founded by Alexander the Great. The ancient city, Alexandria on the Tigris, is located in southern Iraq near Persian Gulf. Researchers discovered the remains of a temple complex, workshops with furnaces and kilns, and the city's port and canal system, according to a January 28 press release from Germany's Konstanz University.
