A group of teachers in Telangana developed smart devices to improve road safety for people with hearing impairments. They include a smart safety stick for pedestrians, a smart helmet for bikers, a smart cap for children, a smart hand-band, dashboard alert systems, and vibration-based safety footwear. The devices use vibration, light, and other sensory alerts to replace sound-based warnings.
