Why is India's monsoon becoming increasingly uneven?

Parts of western India are receiving heavy rain while parts of northwest India and southern peninsula continue to record below-normal rains. The reason for increasingly uneven monsoon is changing position of monsoon trough, the low-pressure belt that decides where rain occurs. This season, trough has repeatedly shifted away from normal position, concentrating rain over western and central India.
