Told Smith to 'be strong': Faf du Plessis on Sandpapergate scandal

Ex-South Africa captain Faf du Plessis recalled reaching out to then Australia skipper Steve Smith during the 2018 Sandpapergate scandal. "Steve came out at the end of the day saying, 'I take responsibility.' We were like, 'You did nothing wrong,'" du Plessis said. He added that he messaged Smith, saying, "I'm so sorry you're going through this. Just be strong."
