How is Captagon drug linked to Bashar Al-Assad's regime in Syria?

Captagon, an amphetamine-type drug, illicitly manufactured in Syria and Lebanon, helped keep ousted ex-President Bashar Al-Assad's regime afloat throughout years of civil war due to the revenue generated by its sale. Captagon generated more than $7.3 billion in Syria and Lebanon between 2020 and 2022, reports claimed. Large quantities of the drug were seized by rebels at Syrian military bases.
