Arunachal releases 4 Siang dam protesters, seeks dialogue

Arunachal Pradesh government released four protesters detained under state unlawful activities law during agitation against the 1,000-MW Siang Upper Multipurpose Project. The release, announced as a goodwill gesture, also included reinstatement of suspended village authorities. Government urged SIFF to schedule talks with CM Pema Khandu; SIFF's formal response is awaited.
