The last Assembly elections in Maharashtra took place in 2019. BJP had won 105 of the 288 Assembly seats, the undivided Shiv Sena won 56 seats and the undivided NCP had won 54 seats. Congress won 44 seats. Notably, the BJP-undivided Shiv Sena alliance was dissolved in 2019. Moreover, the Shiv Sena and NCP also saw splits after the elections.
