US National Security Communications Advisor John Kirby said that Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, who lost his life in a helicopter crash, had a "lot of blood on his hands". He said, "President Raisi was responsible for atrocious human rights in his own country." He added, "As we'd in any other case, we certainly regret in general the loss of life."
