NASA recently announced plans to build first railway system on Moon called 'Flexible Levitation on a Track (FLOAT)'. FLOAT will use unpowered magnetic robots as trains, which will passively float over flexible film track. Unlike normal railway tracks which require construction, these tracks will unroll on lunar surface. FLOAT will be able to transport 1 lakh kg payload per day.
