India's 18-year-old Chess Grandmaster R Praggnanandhaa said his parents faced financial issues before he got his first sponsor. "It was difficult because my sister [Vaishali R] was also playing and travelling," he added. "Chess training may look easy and cheap but it's a very expensive sport due to all the travel and paraphernalia...The training camps cost a lot," he stated.
