A developer built custom software to run Kimi K3, a 2.8-trillion-parameter AI model, on a standard computer with 8 GB of RAM and a single CPU. However, the system takes over 30 seconds to generate a single token, or piece of text. While it uses very little RAM, it still requires 1.7 TB of SSD storage to hold the model.
