Referring to Congress' Shama Mohamed and TMC's Saugata Roy fat-shaming India captain Rohit Sharma, Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said, "Congress and TMC should leave sportspersons alone as they're fully capable of handling their professional lives." He added, "Remarks made by [these leaders], indulging in body shaming...are not only deeply shameful but also outright pathetic."
