How will India's food output be hit by Trump's offer of US escorting ships in Hormuz Strait?

US President Donald Trump offered ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz the option of being escorted by US Navy amid threats of attack by Iran. If container ships choose the option, it'll increase transport costs, insurance premiums and delays, potentially raising India's oil import bill even further. This could hit India's food production as fertiliser producers use natural gas.
