PM Modi released India's first riverine dolphin estimation report on Monday, putting their numbers at 6,327, including 6,324 in the Ganga river and 3 in Indus river. The survey covered 28 rivers across eight states, spanning 8,500 km. Uttar Pradesh has the highest numbers, followed by Bihar, West Bengal and Assam. PM Modi also suggested school trips to dolphin habitats.
