TikTok-parent ByteDance clarified that it has no plans to sell the social media platform after reports claimed that the Chinese firm was looking at potential scenarios for selling TikTok without its algorithm. "Foreign media reports about ByteDance exploring the sale of TikTok are untrue," ByteDance said. It would reportedly rather shut down TikTok than sell it in the US.
