Parliament clears SHANTI Bill to allow private players in nuclear sector
The Rajya Sabha passed the Sustainable Harnessing and Advancement of Nuclear Energy for Transforming India (SHANTI) Bill, 2025, on Thursday. This comes a day after the Lok Sabha cleared the bill allowing private players in India's nuclear sector. Several opposition leaders had opposed the bill, urging further scrutiny by a standing committee.
