Responding to the Opposition's charge that poll-bound states were ignored in Budget 2026, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, during an interview, said, "Karo to daant, na karo to daant" (You get scolded whether you do it or not). Her remark came after Opposition leaders, ahead of the Bihar polls, claimed the Budget looked like Bihar Budget rather than a Union Budget.
