Summer heat stress extending to monsoon amid climate change: Study

A study conducted by IIT Gandhinagar and Stanford University found that extreme heat stress occurring during summer is extending into monsoon due to climate warming. It added that hot and humid conditions during summer could affect 60% of India while monsoon may affect 53%. Researchers said total population affected by heat stress could reach around 0.8 billion to 1.2 billion.
