In a scratch card scam, fraudsters send fake scratch cards to people and trick them into believing that they have won a cash reward. They then ask for ID proofs to confirm identity and seek money to release the winning amount. Recently, a woman in Bengaluru lost ₹18 lakh after fraudsters convinced her that she had won ₹15.51-lakh scratch card.
