Union Home Minister Amit Shah accused the Opposition of spreading lies about SIR. "We'll not allow infiltrators to get voting rights," he said. He added that the Constitution defines a person's eligibility to be a voter, and the first condition is that the voter must be an Indian citizen. He added that the Election Commission must rightfully examine voters' eligibility.
