'Batwara 1947' couldn't get funding as Sunny played Muslim man: Director

Filmmaker Rajkumar Santoshi revealed that investors were reluctant to fund 'Batwara 1947' because of Sunny Deol's Muslim character. "They [investors] wanted me to do a regular action film, a vigilante film. They weren't ready to take this film, where Sunny's playing a Muslim character," said Santoshi. He added, "I've been reading reviews...I'd like to clarify, he's not playing a Pakistani."
