TMC MP Sushmita Dev has resigned from both the party and the Rajya Sabha. She is the former president of the All India Mahila Congress and lost the 2019 Lok Sabha election to BJP candidate Rajdeep Roy. She left Congress after the defeat and joined TMC in 2021. She also served as TMC's national spokesperson until her resignation.
