Centre quietly opened door to imposing fees on UPI: Rahul Gandhi

Congress' Rahul Gandhi said Centre has "quietly opened the door" to imposing fees on UPI transactions above ₹2,000. He said MDR could be charged on such merchant transactions, adding that while they account for only 5% of transaction volume, they represent nearly 65% of UPI's total value. His remarks came after government barred banks from charging fees up to ₹2,000.
