Cleaner air may be making Europe hotter: Study

A study published in Geophysical Research Letters suggests that cleaner air may be making Europe hotter. The study said that for decades, sulphate aerosols from coal plants dimmed the sunlight and kept summer temperatures about 1°C lower on average. As clean-air laws across Europe reduced this pollution, more sunlight reached the surface, causing temperatures to rise more quickly.
