CM Reddy bans plastic flex banners in Andhra Pradesh

Andhra Pradesh CM Jagan Mohan Reddy on Friday banned the use of plastic flex banners across the state and asked people to use cloth banners. "Our endeavour is to make Andhra Pradesh plastic-free by 2027," the CM said. "About 76 tonnes of plastic was removed from the seashore," he stated while referring to a recent beach-cleaning drive in Visakhapatnam.

10 killed, 30 injured after vehicle rams into crowd in US

Woman burnt to death on New York train identified

The woman who died after being set on fire on the New York City subway in December was identified as 57-year-old Debrina Kawam of Toms River, New Jersey, the New York medical examiner's office said. Kawam was identified through fingerprint analysis. A 33-year-old Guatemalan citizen, Sebastian Zapeta, set Kawam on fire on a train and watched her burn to death.
