Coal India absorbs cost surge to shield consumers from price hike

State-owned Coal India is absorbing rising input costs to shield consumers from higher coal prices, even as expenses for key inputs like explosives and industrial diesel have surged since the Middle East war began. The company warned that doing so could trigger a cascading impact across coal-reliant sectors. It's also compensating contractors operating in its mines for higher diesel costs.
