CV Raman was the first Indian to win Nobel Prize in Physics

Indian physicist CV Raman was the first Indian to win the Nobel Prize in Physics in the year 1930. Raman is known for his discovery of the Raman Effect, which is the scattering of light in different substances. Also, S Chandrasekhar, born in Lahore before India-Pakistan separation, won the 1983 Nobel Prize in Physics and later moved to the US.
