Authorities and citizen groups in Dehradun are removing concrete from the bases of roadside trees to help their roots breathe and absorb rainwater. The de-concreting drive aims to stabilise trees and prevent them from collapsing during heavy monsoon winds. The initiative is being carried out by an environmental organisation with local authorities following National Green Tribunal directions.
