German authorities launched a counterterrorism investigation on Wednesday after a drone carrying explosives was found near a runway of Leipzig airport. The drone was found in a restricted cargo area and explosives experts removed its detonator after closing down the runway. Authorities are also investigating an unidentified flying object that a plane hit while taking off from the airport.
