Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman proposed to launch 'Khelo India Mission' to transform the sports sector over the next decade in Budget 2026. The programme seeks to facilitate integrated talent development pathway, integration of sports science and technology, competitions and leagues to promote sports culture, systematic development of coaches and development of sports infrastructure.
