Goldmine collapses in Central African Republic, more than 100 dead

More than 100 people were killed after an artisanal gold mine in the Central African Republic collapsed in a landslide on Tuesday, local officials said on Wednesday. The incident occurred near the border with Cameroon. Videos shared on social media appeared to show a wave of sand descending on a group of people, believed to be miners.
