Gondwana was bigger than thought, covered at least 80% of Earth’s land: Study

A study in Science Advances found that Gondwana covered at least 80% of Earth’s continental landmass around 500 million years ago, making it larger than previously thought. Researchers arrived at this conclusion by mapping neodymium isotopes across more than 25,000 rock samples. Gondwana included what are now South America, Africa, Antarctica, Australia, Madagascar and the Indian subcontinent.
