The government has deferred implementation of EV battery safety norms, which were originally supposed to be implemented from October 1 onwards. The norms will now be implemented in two phases, with the first phase taking effect from December 1 and the second phase taking effect from March 31, 2023. The norms are based on recommendations of expert committee report.
