The government has approached the Supreme Court contesting Delhi High Court's decision which set aside government's notification imposing a ban on manufacture and sale of Oxytocin by private companies. The Delhi High Court had in December 2018 quashed the Centre's decision calling it "arbitrary and unreasonable". Oxytocin is a drug which induces labour and controls bleeding during childbirth.
