Noted historian Ranajit Guha passed away at the age of 100 in Austria due to age-related ailments, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said on Saturday. Born in 1923 in present-day Bangladesh, he completed his post-graduation from Calcutta University. Expressing grief, Banerjee said he motivated young historians to pursue studies on the subaltern society and had many admirers globally.
