Akshaya Tritiya, also called Akha Teej, is an auspicious day on Tritiya tithi of Shukla Paksha, when people celebrate by purchasing items like gold jewellery and earthen pots. The government has no upper limit on amount of gold a person can own or keep at home. They are, however, required to disclose their gold holdings, along with proof of purchase.
