A producer of SS Rajamouli’s upcoming film 'Varanasi' sought 150 water tankers of 10,000 litres each from the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board, according to a report. The letter stated that water was required to fill a pond for underwater sequences. However, HMWSSB officials denied the request, citing a severe water shortage in Hyderabad amid peak summer demand.
