In a first, AI helps surgeons remove brain tumour
Neurosurgeons in London have performed the world's first successful AI-assisted brain tumour removal surgery. The operation was carried out on a 48-year-old man who risked losing his sight without treatment. While surgeons remained in control, the AI system analysed live camera footage, helping identify critical structures such as nerves that needed to be avoided around the tumour.
