India's US envoy debunks 'myths' on FCRA, says bill aims to boost transparency
Reacting to the controversy surrounding the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Amendment Bill (FCRA), 2026, India's ambassador to US Vinay Mohan Kwatra said the bill aims to improve transparency. He said the belief that the new bill aims to cut off foreign aid to civil society is a "myth". Kwatra added that FCRA does not target any particular religion or community.
