Indian-origin man loses US citizenship 15 years after raping woman in New York

US said it has revoked the citizenship of an India-born taxi driver, Gurmeet Singh, who was sentenced to 20 years in prison for kidnapping and raping a woman at knifepoint in 2011. Singh had submitted his application for US citizenship just weeks after the crime and became a US citizen. He had stayed in US without authorisation for several years.
