Music composer AR Rahman is the only Indian to have won two Oscar awards, which is the most for any Indian. Rahman won the 'Best Original Song' and 'Best Original Score' awards in 2009 for his composition in 'Slumdog Millionaire'. Bhanu Athaiya was the first Indian to win an Oscar in 1983 for 'Best Costume Design' for the film 'Gandhi'.
