Insurer not liable to pay compensation for accidents if driver's licence invalid: SC

The Supreme Court has ruled that insurance companies aren't liable to pay compensation in road accident cases if the vehicle was driven without a valid driving licence. The court said the driver, vehicle owner, or both may have to bear the compensation. It also urged authorities to launch a nationwide awareness campaign on the importance of holding valid driving licences.
