IPS officer Ankit Goyal took charge as the Pune Rural Police Superintendent on Sunday. He succeeded SP Abhinav Deshmukh, who is yet to get his new posting. Goyal was the SP of Maharashtra's Gadchiroli district. He led the police team that gunned down 26 Maoists, including top Naxal leader Milind Teltumbde, last year.
