Italy trucker strike rots crops, govt cabinet to meet on Thursday

Italy's southern trucker blockades, protesting high diesel prices, are causing irreversible damage to farms as tomatoes and seasonal vegetables rot without transport. Farmers' group Confagricoltura warned of catastrophic losses. PM Giorgia Meloni's cabinet is set to meet Thursday to approve aid measures for truckers and farmers.
