Kannada writer and activist Chandrashekar Patil passed away at the age of 83 due to age-related ailments at a Bengaluru hospital late Sunday night. Patil had opposed the Karnataka government's move to introduce English as a medium of instruction in government schools. Chief Minister Basavaraj S Bommai and other leaders condoled his death.
